ABOUT US

The Pathways to Wellness African American Technical Assistance & Training Program (AATA) Program has contracted with Alameda County Behavioral Health to provide training and resources to health care providers and the community in order to improve the mental health of African American clients.

Our team of qualified trainers will deliver in-person workshops to psychiatric providers to enhance the accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment of mental health conditions in the African American community.

Learning objectives will include recognizing racial bias and the impact on diagnostic and treatment decisions for African Americans across the age span, identifying the role of culture in symptom presentation, expression, alternative healing practices, and addressing different medication prescription(s) for African Americans across the age span.

We aim to share a variety of learning styles and techniques to assist in expanding your knowledge of these subject matters.
